CuroGens CEO, Jesper Kehlet
[February 2016] When you’re an entrepreneur, great new ideas are the lifeblood of the business. They’re what set you apart and allow your company to grow and flourish. So what’s the best process for coming up with new concepts? For our CEO Jesper Kehlet, it’s when he has too much time to think about…well…nothing. This is when the juices flow.
Once those ideas hit, Jesper says a good entrepreneur must possess a little bit of insanity. “You need to be completely oblivious to common sense and just say, if I’m going do something I need to go with it.” Just listen to your gut if you know you’re on the right track, despite any naysayers.
The best part about being an idea guy for Jesper is the fulfillment in trying out new things, even the ones that “drop like lead balloons.” It’s all worth it when you uncover something with real merit, he says, because you get to see it grow and feel proud that someone can use and be helped by what you created.
The one caveat for Jesper—it must be a new, unique idea. “I’m not here to do the same thing that everybody else is doing,” he says. “I don’t want to be swimming in a blood red ocean with all the rest of the sharks trying to deliver the same services.”
